香港樹仁大學（簡稱樹仁、仁大；英語：HongKongShueYanUniversity，HKSYU），原稱香港樹仁學院，是香港首間私立大學，于1971年由胡鴻烈及鐘期榮夫婦創辦，當時因堅持提供四年制大學課程，只能以學院名義營運。2006年12月19日，學院獲香港行政長官會同行政會議通過正名動議，正式承認其大學地位，成為香港首間私立大學，并于2007年2月14日正式更名。

HongKongShueYanCollege,thepredecessorofHongKongShueYanUniversitywasfoundedin1971.TheideaofanindependentliberalartscollegewasfirstconceivedinthespringofthatyearwhenDr.HenryH.L.Hu,athenLegislativeCouncillor,andDr.ChungChiYung,aprominenteducationist,concernedovertheacuteshortageofcollegeplacesforthelocalFormVIstudentsaspiringafteruniversityeducation,madeuptheirmindstoestablishan

institutionofhigherlearningforthebenefitoftheyouthsandintheinterestsofoursocietyasawhole.

TheCollegewasapprovedtoregisterunderthePostSecondaryCollegesOrdinancein1976anditsdiplomahassincebeenrecognizedbytheGovernmentasaqualificationforappointmenttothecivilservice.

On19December2006,pursuanttothePostSecondaryCollegesOrdinance(Cap.320)approvalwasgivenbytheChiefExecutiveinCouncilforHongKongShueYanCollegetochangeitsEnglishandChinesetitlesto“HongKongShueYanUniversity”and“香港樹仁大學”respectivelywithimmediateeffect.
